The present invention relates to a system and method for processing a coextruded meat product having a casing enclosing a meat dough after pickling, wherein the coextruded meat product is exposed to a high velocity heated air stream, thereby mechanically removing moisture from a surface of the casing and the coextruded meat product is cooked. By virtue of this system and method, due to the excellent surface preparation of the casing by the air nozzles, it may be even better possible to provide the coextruded meat product in a non-soaking liquid coating.
