In comparison with the prior art electrochromic material which has the main drawback of high production cost because of the low synthetic yield, the inventors of the present invention have modulated the chemical structure of the conventional viologen compounds to develop a novel electrochromic material having a excellent advantage of low production costs thanks to the high recovery rate. Unlike the prior art electrochromic elements (ECD) used with the prior art electrochromic material, the inventors of the present invention have also provided a self-dimming mirror of the novel electrochromic material, which self-dimming mirror provided has an excellent reflectivity performance.
