Flexible food container comprising: first moisture permeable inner layer 304 with perforations; second moisture impermeable outer layer 300 with inner heat reflective layer; and insulating, moisture tolerant layer 400 between first and second layers, so moisture passes through first layer and is retained in third layer. Preferably, third layer comprises cellulose based non-woven fibre. Preferably, first layer comprises plant or water based adhesive grease resistant layer 700 on inner surface to provide heat sealable layer. Preferably, heat reflective layer comprises vacuum deposited metallised, infrared reflective coating 500. Preferably, material is recyclable, biodegradable or compostable. Preferably first and second layers are paper based, and third layer is thicker and is 50-300gsm or 80-200gsm. Container blank is cut from web, preferably with folds or score lines. Preferably heat sealing layer is heat treated to secure further layers of packaging, and first layer comprises permeability coating. Container retains heat and reduces condensation.
