PACKAGING RECLOSURE LABEL FOR HIGH ALCOHOL CONTENT PRODUCTS

A container (33) for a high alcohol content product comprises a package (32) which has an opening (22) sealed by a layered article (1) the layered article has a facestock (4) a reclosure adhesive (5) a machine direction oriented film (6) and a sealing adhesive (7) which has an adhesive strength that is not significantly diminished by the product. The sealing adhesive (7) provides a good long term seal for the package that is resistant to degradation from alcohol. The machine direction oriented film (6) provides an alcohol barrier between the product and the reclosure adhesive (5). Upon opening the film tears clean and straight in the machine direction to allow a portion of the film to stay in contact with the package and another portion of the film to be pulled from the package (32) to expose the opening (22). The reclosure adhesive provides resealing capabilities for the layer article after the initial opening of the package. The clean straight tear also provides a temper evident feature for the package.
