MICELLES OF D-ALPHA-TOCOPHERYL POLYETHYLENE GLYCOL 1000 SUCCINATE

The present invention relates to compositions comprising micelles of d-α-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol 1000 succinate (TPGS). The micelles may further comprise one or more of retinol, polyhexamethylene biguanide (PHMB), buffered PHMB, ascorbyl palmitate, and/or bio-active therapeutic agents. In one embodiment the bio-active therapeutic agent is an oil-soluble aromatic vitamin, preferably retinol, tocotrienol and/or tocopherol. Preferably the micelles do not exceed 100nm, even more preferably do not exceed 31nm. Also claimed are several methods of producing the micellar compositions. In one embodiment is a method of making a micelle composition with an outer hydrophilic phase, and in another embodiment is a method of making a micelle composition with an outer oil phase.
