To provide a total enthalpy heat exchange element having excellent separation performance between steam and gas (such as air) except for the steam, and having excellent durability where deterioration in strength at the time of total enthalpy heat exchange is suppressed: and to provide a total enthalpy heat exchanger.SOLUTION: A total enthalpy heat exchange element includes: a total enthalpy heat exchange sheet having a porous member and a film placed on the porous member and containing oriented fibrous particles; and a cross-sectional waveform flow passage member disposed in contact on the film of the total enthalpy heat exchange sheet and forming a plurality of first linear flow passages. The plurality of total enthalpy heat exchange unit constitutes a laminated structure. The laminated structure is such that the plurality of first linear flow passages adjacent to each other via the total enthalpy heat exchange sheet and a plurality of second linear flow passages formed to the porous member by abutting the cross-sectional waveform flow passage member intersect with each other, and the first linear flow passages intersect with each other at an angle of 45-90° with respect to an oriented direction of the fibrous particles of the film.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
