PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encoder scale with a lower cost and a higher detection accuracy and a method for manufacturing the encoder scale, and to provide an encoder, a robot, a printer, and a projector having the encoder scale.;SOLUTION: The encoder scale has a plate-like substrate; and an optical pattern on one surface of the substrate, the optical pattern having a first region and a second region arranged alternately, the first region being mainly formed of the first surface with the thickness direction of the substrate as a normal line, the second region being mainly formed of the second surface inclined to the first surface, the first region having a first part extending in a first direction and a second part extending in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, and the first part and the second part having the same width.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
