To provide an ironing plate for a friction stir welding apparatus, a friction stir welding apparatus comprising the same, and a friction stir welding method, with which occurrence of burrs protruding on a welding surface of a welding member can be restricted more than in prior art.SOLUTION: An ironing plate 100 is attached to a friction stir welding apparatus 200 so that an outer peripheral part of a rotary tool 5 is surrounded, and so that it does not rotate with the rotary tool 5. Further, an inner diameter of a portion into which the rotary tool 5 of the ironing plate 100 is inserted is larger than the rotary tool 5, and material inflow paths 105 into which surplus material of two pieces of metal plates 1 and 2 enter are formed between the ironing plate 100 and the rotary tool 5, when arranging the ironing plate 100 so as to surround the outer peripheral part of the rotary tool 5.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
