To make the characteristics of a multifactorial image including static and dynamic parameters in a video image usable upon image or video analysis and scene capturing or registration.SOLUTION: A video image processing system includes: tracking and characterizing moving elements appearing in a scene video image: identifying and characterizing static elements or a subject; defining 3D coordinates in the scene video image; extracting the coordinates and direction of a source of the video image (for example, a camera); updating characteristic information associated with the static elements in accordance with any of newly extracted characteristic information and the revision of the existing characteristic information; detecting one or more persons from among dynamic elements in the scene video image; and characterizing and recording an event associated with the detected person. Also, the video image processing system further comprises an acoustic range-finding part including one or more acoustic generators and one or more acoustic detectors provided near the source of the video image.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
