To prevent falling and slip of furniture in earthquake time.SOLUTION: Furniture 3 comprises a grounding device 6 for vertically movably supporting an operation member 11 having a seismic member 13 on a lower end thereof, by a support member 10. A swing member 14 of an operation mechanism 7 is pivotally supported to the support member 10, for vertically moving the operation member 11 energized upward by a first spring 25. A shaft member 40 is coupled to the swing member 14 on a same shaft core, the other end 40A of the shaft member 40 is pivotally supported to the attachment member 42. An operation pedal 41 is coupled to the other end 40A of the shaft member 40 through an engagement member 44. The operation pedal 41 switches a position of the seismic member 13 between an upper non-grounding position and a lower grounding position according to the operation. A holding mechanism 8 is provided on the engagement member 44 and the attachment member 42, for holding the operation pedal 41 between the non-grounding position and the grounding position.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
