SOLUTION: A magnitude of vibration of a rotary shaft 2 supported by a journal bearing 10 and a valve 102 for adjusting the amount of oil supply by oil supply units 25, 26, 27 for supplying oil to bearing pads 30, 32 is detected. Sensor for detecting the internal pressure of the housing, the pressure sensor 106 for detecting the internal pressure of the housing, and the oil supply unit 25, 26, 27 based on the magnitude and the internal pressure of the shaft vibration detected by the gap sensor 104 and the internal pressure sensor 106.
