To provide a component loading device and method in which there is less possibility of occurrence of damage or the like to a component to be loaded, and loading deviation hardly occurs.SOLUTION: There is provided a component loading device 20 capable of loading an object component 17 transported on a transport path to a carrier tape T1. The device 20 has a stopper pin 24 member for regulating movement of the object component 17. The pin 24 is arranged at a regulation position P1 which exists in a midway of transport paths 22, 23. The device 20 has a suction hole 25a for sucking the object component 17 for moving the object component 17 to a termination position P2 corresponding to a recess T1a of the carrier tape T1. The device 20 further comprises a suction nozzle 40 which presses down the object component 17 positioned at the termination position P2 for pushing the object component 17 into the recess T1a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2B
