To provide a component supply instruction device for detecting a product class of which components may nearly exhausted, and instructing supply of the components without using an expensive device.SOLUTION: A component supply instruction device comprises an image acquisition part for acquiring an image of a tape component during operation. Multiple tape components are supplied to a component packaging machine, and in each of the tape components, an end previous notice mark is provided at a position preceding to the end by a predetermined distance. Namely, if a tape component wound around a reel is consumed and the remaining quantity of the tape component becomes equal to or less than a predetermined quantity, the end previous notice mark appears. An end previous notice mark detection part analyzes the image that is acquired by the image acquisition part, and detects the end previous notice mark. Based on an image of the detected end previous notice mark, a product class identification part identifies a product class of the tape component of which the end previous notice mark is detected. A supply instruction notification part notifies the outside of a supply instruction of the tape component that is identified by the product class identification part.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
