To provide a medical equipment operation rope 2 that has an outstanding torque transmission property.SOLUTION: An operation rope 2 has a piece of core wire 4 and six pieces of lateral wires 6. Lateral wires 6 are spirally wound around the core wire 4. The operation rope 2 has a layer twisting structure of "1+6". The lateral wire 6 unwound from the operation rope 2 is formed into spiral shape. The shape forming ratio is at least 1.01%. The lateral wire 6 is twisted. The twisting angle is at least 10°. The twisting angle is equal to or larger than the twisting angle of the operation rope 2. Straightness of the operation rope 2 at hanging test using a two meter long sample is 3.0 mm or less. The core wire 4 may or may not be twisted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
