To provide a device and a method which can inhibit vibration properly even if a device body is used in an inclining state.SOLUTION: This device is a vibration inhibition device 11 which inhibits vibration of an electronic device and includes: a movable part 20 which can move the electronic device in at least one direction; a support part movably supporting the movable part 20; a vibration detection part which detects vibration input to the vibration inhibition device 11; and a control part which detects a posture of the vibration inhibition device 11 based on a detection result of the vibration detection part and calculates an amount of correction made to a magnitude of displacement in a displacement direction resulting from the vibration to control movement of the movable part 20 by the support part. The control part adjusts the correction amount according to the detected posture and controls the movement of the movable part 20 based on the adjusted correction amount.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
