To prevent conventional occurrence of noise and cross wind pressure due to great head wind resistance when a rapid transit railway vehicle is travelling as well as amplified noise and rocking due to pressure waves when rushing into a tunnel.SOLUTION: The problem is solved by erecting head wind backward sending bodies on both sides in a middle top portion of a head car of the rapid transit railroad vehicle and also erecting a central head wind divider from a middle portion of each head wind backward sending body to a portion behind an automatic coupler cover and in addition, sharpening a shape from the middle top portion to the automatic coupler cover as well as forming side surface head wind backward sending grooves from side surface portions adjacent to the automatic coupler cover to both side surface portions of a driving cab. This structure can reduce resistance and noise of head wind that may be caused when the vehicle is travelling, and also control noise or rocking due to pressure waves that may be caused when the vehicle is rushing into a tunnel. Thereby, a rapid transit railroad vehicle accelerated more than ever can be obtained.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
