PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately take samples of dust detected by a dust sensor.SOLUTION: A dust detection device 1 includes a housing 2, collector 3, and dust sensor 4. The collector 3 is shaped such that the opening area of a first open end 31 is no less than the opening area of an inlet port 28 and is greater than the opening area of a second open end 32. A through-path 44 has an opening area that is smaller than the opening area of the inlet port 28 and the opening area of an outlet port 29. The dust detection device 1 also includes an adhesive member 7 provided with an adhesive surface and configured to take samples of dust passing through the through-path 44. The adhesive member 7 is disposed between the through-path 44 and the outlet port 29 in such a way that the adhesive surface thereof faces the opening face of the through-path 44. A distance D1 between the adhesive member 7 and the dust sensor 4 is no greater than triple a diameter R4 of the through-path 44.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
