A stereoscopic visualization system including a portal component, a first sensor and a first cable, a second sensor and a second cable, and a first display and a second display. The portal component includes an axis and first and second channels extending along the axis. The first sensor is fixed in the first channel at a first angle with respect to the axis and is directed inward toward a position. The first cable extends from the first sensor. The second sensor is fixed in the second channel at a second angle with respect to the axis and is directed inward toward that position. The first angle and the second angle converge at that position to define the perceived depth. The second cable extends from the second sensor. The first display structure is disposed proximate to the left opening of the eye frame, and the second display structure is disposed proximate to the right opening of the eye frame.
