PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating corrosion of metal by a numerical analysis, the method allowing a highly accurate estimation of corrosion of metal in contact with an electrolyte solution by a numerical analysis.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a method for estimating corrosion of metal in contact with an electrolyte solution by a numerical analysis, the method including the steps of: measuring a polarization curve showing the relation between the potential E and the current density i of a metal surface in an electrolyte solution; obtaining a correction polarization curve in which the current density in the polarization curve is reduced; and determining, by a numerical calculation, a potential distribution in the electrolyte solution at a specific time in a system where the metal and the electrolyte solution contact with each other, with the correction polarization curve as a boundary condition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
