Vacuum assisted wound closure assembly and wound irradiation method using the same

The wound irradiation method includes the steps of placing the wound insert foam material in the wound cavity of the wound and covering the wound insert foam material with a wound sealing layer. The method uses a drain tube sealed within the wound cavity and connected to a vacuum source to pump fluid out of the wound cavity and optically coupled to the treatment light source and along itself. Further comprising irradiating the wound with a light diffusing optical fiber including a light scattering structure distributed in a distributed manner. A portion of the light diffusing optical fiber is placed in the wound tissue area of the wound, the wound cavity, or both, and the light emitted by the treatment light source enters the light diffusing optical fiber and diffuses the light. It scatters out of the optical fiber and then irradiates the wound tissue area, the wound cavity surface of the wound, or both.
