To reduce decline in carefulness of a vehicle operator.SOLUTION: A method includes: monitoring an operator by collecting operator state information by using at least one sensor of a vehicle; calculating an involvement level of the operator according to a carefulness model and the operator state information in order to characterize a degree of decline in the carefulness which is experienced at present by the operator; and rendering at least one graphical element as a function of the involvement level on an augmented reality (AR) display in order to prompt the operator to maintain the carefulness regarding an operation of the vehicle and operation environment at present in the surroundings of the vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
