To provide a fluid pressure actuator and a brake device of a rail machine including the fluid pressure actuator, capable of improving a degree of freedom in designing by thinning and reduction of a connection pipe system.SOLUTION: A fluid pressure actuator includes a fluid pressure cylinder 13 having a fluid pressure cylinder body 13a, a fluid pressure piston 13b fitted into the fluid pressure cylinder body 13a in a manner that it can be projected and retracted, and connected to an operated member, and a fluid pressure cylinder chamber 13c defined by a pressure receiving face of the fluid pressure piston 13b and an inner wall of the fluid pressure cylinder body 13a, and a fluid pressure unit 14 having a positive pressure/negative pressure generation mechanism 50 for expanding and contracting the fluid pressure cylinder 13 by adjusting an inner pressure of the fluid pressure cylinder chamber 13c to positive pressure or negative pressure by supplying and discharging a working fluid to the fluid pressure cylinder chamber 13c of the fluid pressure cylinder 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
