PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit ultra-high definition videos with frame frequencies above 120 Hz using a smaller number of fiber optic cables.;SOLUTION: A format converter 10 of a video signal transmitter 1 inputs an ultra-high definition video with a frame frequency over 120 Hz, converts formats while maintaining resolution and a frame frequency, and stores it in a frame buffer 11. A basic image generation unit 12 reads from the frame buffer 11 a video signal with a low frame frequency as a source image for each predetermined number of streams and generates a basic image. A basic stream generation unit 13 generates a basic stream. A 10 G link mapping unit 14 generates a 10 G link signal from two basic streams, maps the 10G link signal to any of cores that make up an optical fiber cable, and transmits it to a video signal receiver 2 through a transmission path 3 of the optical fiber cable.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2;COPYRIGHT: (C)2019,JPO&INPIT
