PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insulating rope for an electric wire, having high tensile strength.;SOLUTION: The insulating rope for an electric wire has a rope body 13 and ring portions 2a, 2b respectively provided in both longitudinal direction-ends of the rope body 13. One ring portion 2a is composed of a core wire 4 made of a fiber bundle and a first insulating material and includes a covering layer 5 covering a part of the core wire 4. A portion 4b not covered by the covering layer 5, of the core wire 4 forms an arc having a central angle θ of 180° or more on a first plane S1 and has an inversion part 6 arranged symmetrically with respect to second plane S2 perpendicular to the first plane S1. The portion 4a covered by the covering layer 5, of the core wire 4 has a connecting portion 7 connected to the inversion part 6.
