PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aseismatic device for a balance weight of an elevator capable of surely preventing falling-off from the balance weight and a method of mounting the aseismatic device for the balance weight of the elevator.SOLUTION: An aseismatic device 8 for a weight balance of an elevator is mounted on a balance weight 5 which has a weight frame including a pair of vertical frames 13 and a weight block 12 disposed between the pair of vertical frames 13. The aseismatic device 8 includes: a restraint body 17 having a belt 19 by which the weight block 12 and the pair of vertical frames 13 are wound together and a connector 20 for connecting both ends of the belt 19; and a fixing bolt 18 for fixing the restraint body 17 to at least any one of the pair of vertical frames 13.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
