PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a water-disintegrable wet sheet having improved strength.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a water-disintegrable wet sheet which comprises: a press processing step (S2) of applying press-processing to a base paper sheet 2 to which a water-soluble binder is added; before the press processing step (S2), a first chemical impregnation step (S1) of impregnating the base paper sheet 2 with a chemical solution prepared by blending a penetrant for penetrating a crosslinking agent which causes a crosslinking reaction in the water-soluble binder; and after the press processing step (S2), a second chemical impregnation step (S4) of impregnating the base paper sheet 2 with a chemical solution prepared by blending the crosslinking agent in the penetrant.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
