From the lipophilic fraction of sponge (Porifera), a fraction having the activity is extracted using the cobblestone area (CA) formation inhibitory activity of human leukemia stem cell-like cells as an index, and the fraction is further extracted from the fraction. By isolating and purifying compounds having activity and determining their structures, steriferin compounds including novel compounds were identified. Further, the isolated and purified steriferin compound remarkably suppresses niche formation of leukemia stem cell-like cells derived from human chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) having resistance to existing antitumor agents and It was found to enhance the effect of tumor agents. The present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition having an inhibitory or suppressive activity against niche formation of leukemia stem cells, an agent for preventing recurrence of malignant tumors by using in combination with other antitumor agents, and the like.
