A game device includes: a game control unit receiving instruction input from a player, and controlling a game; a mode selecting unit receiving, from the player, a selection of one of an intervention mode in which part of functions of the game is controlled according to instruction input from a different game device and a normal mode in which the part of the functions is controlled without depending on the instruction input from the different game device; an intervention requesting unit requesting another game device to control the part of the functions when the intervention mode is selected; an intervention mode control unit transmitting information necessary to control the part of the functions to a game device responding to the request, receiving instruction input from the game device, and controlling the part of the functions; and a normal mode control unit controlling the part of the functions when the normal mode is selected.
