rab5 nucleic acid molecules that confer resistance to Coleoptera and Hemiptera pests. This disclosure relates to nucleic acid molecules and methods of their use for the control of Coleoptera pests through inhibition mediated by RNA interference of the coding and non-coding target sequences transcribed in Coleoptera pests. The disclosure also relates to methods for producing transgenic plants expressing nucleic acid molecules useful for controlling coleopteran pests, plant cells and plants thus obtained.
