BIOPRODUCT AND BIOFUEL PROCESSING FROM LIGNOCELLULOSTIC BIOMASSES

process of obtaining bioproduct and biofuel from lignocellulosic biomass. The present invention aims at demonstrating the use of rice husk and elephant grass by proposing the transformation of both into ethanol and lactic acid from the solid and liquid fractions of these biomasses, respectively, steam blast pretreated and hydrolysed. All this combined with the optimization of operating conditions, developing ethanol production process through the consumption of hexoses present in the pretreated material and lactic acid through the consumption of pentoses present in the liquor. In addition, it seeks to contribute to the mitigation of the growing environmental problem of rice husk and to take advantage of the high productivity of elephant grass in the state of rio grande do sul / brazil. Such a process is in the areas of green chemistry and engineering.
