Also provided is a bulk material handling system (30a) (5) which allows the transfer of goods into or out of ssd-bc (10). bulk material handling system (30a) is arranged to transfer material discharged from a cargo hold bottom (14). the bulk material handling system (34) includes a conveyor disposed on one of the sponsons (16) which carries the material discharged from the cargo holds (14) to a bare deck (31) of the ssd-bc (10).
