Genetic constructions are provided in which at least one fragment of which is inserted into the genetic material of a plant, in which at least one fragment of genetic construction comprises, consists essentially of, or consists of, one or more nucleotide sequences derived from, or One or more plants. The invention also provides the use of genetic construction for the production of genetically enhanced plants, and the improved plants thus obtained. Improved plants may have resistance to diseases, tolerance to abiotic stress or desirable nutritional, palatable or morphological properties.
