One method for authenticating a circuit switched call (CS) on a virtual subscriber identity module (VSIM) includes: authenticating vsim for a packet switched call (ps) connection using authentication information obtained from a remote server through a software subscriber identity module (sim-soft) connection to the remote server; initiate a call connection on a cs radio access (rat) technology between vsim and a first communication network; and authenticating the cs vsim call connection to the first communication network via the ps vsim connection in response to an authentication request for the call call on rat cs.
