摘要
Canine posterior limb articulated orthosis for maintenance of conscious proprioception while walking and in station. The described orthosis is related to the veterinary medicine, biomechanics applied to small animals, rehabilitation and allows stabilization of physiological movements in gait and / or season. It is indicated for dogs with difficulty maintaining conscious proprioception due to acute or spinal cord injuries. for postoperative support, or during the rehabilitation period. The model consists of a rubber sole, internally lined with neoprene and bilateral elastics for foot traction. the sole is joined to the vertical portion of the system by a connecting element which allows the lower portion of the limb to be naturally and ergonomically articulated. The orthosis can be perfectly adjusted to the dog's paw by means of velcro straps, allowing its use in dogs of different sizes and physical complexions, both for the right hind limb and left, simply by inverting the plant. The product is not only light and flexible, but also stands out for its circular opening on the rear side for fitting the hock, which favors greater freedom of movement for the joint. Moreover, it is a product of great applicability, being industrializable and economically viable, as it can be produced with low cost materials.
