Use of at least one copolymer or one of its salts as an adjuvant for hydraulic binder, where the copolymer comprises at an ester unit of formula (I) (-C(R 2)(R 3)-C(R 1)(C(=O)-OR 4)-) (I) and at least a ketone unit of formula (-C(R 6)(R 7)-C(R 5)((CH 2) n-C(=O) m-W 1-(R 8-O) q-R 9)-) (II), and the molar mass of the copolymer is 500-20000 Daltons, is claimed. R 1-R 3H (preferred), 1-20C alkyl, -(CH 2) p-COOR or ionized form; p : 0 or 1; R : H or 1-6C alkyl; R 4H, monovalent, divalent or trivalent ion or quaternary ammonium radical; R 5-R 7H (preferred), 1-20C alkyl or (-(CH 2) n-(C=O) m-W 1-(R 8-O) q-R 9); R 82-20C, preferably 2C alkyl radical; R 9H (preferred), or 1-20C, preferably 1C alkyl; W 1O (preferred) or N; n : 0-2; m : 0-1; and q : 0-200, preferably 4-25.
