摘要

The present disclosure is related to a biaxial magnetic disturbance probe and a method for the quick determination of the orientation angle of cracks in ferromagnetic objects. The above is related to the electromagnetic methods of Non-Destructive Evaluation of materials. The probe consists of a permanent NdFeB magnet, with a maximum energy density value of 40 MGOe, cylindrical and with height and diameter of equal dimensions. In addition, the probe contains two magnetic sensors arranged in such a way that these sensors can record a tangential component (x) and the ortho-tangential component (y), respectively, of the magnetic flux density. The x direction is matched with the inspection direction. The probe, having two sensors measuring two tangential components of the magnetic flux density on the surface of the object under inspection, allows to quickly estimate the orientation angle of the crack.
