The invention relates to an automatic integrated modular system for the continuous variable digital inkjet (drop-on-demand) printing of flat templates for vehicle license plates. The system comprises modules for feeding in, aligning, registering, printing, curing and stacking the templates produced. The printing is carried out using UV inks of different colours visible under infrared light. The invention also relates to a template for a vehicle license plate or to the vehicle license plate itself. The invention further relates to a method for feeding in the templates and to a method for producing same.
