The method involves providing a surface with a metallic coating (6) and providing another metallic coating with different gloss levels in selected areas (7,8,9,10,11). The different gloss levels are produced on the former coating in the multiple selected areas. The gloss levels are produced by combination of metallic coating and mechanical or chemical finishing operations.
