Discloses a hydrometallurgical process and system for the recovery ofprecious metals; specifically palladium, rhodium and platinum metals, at highpurityand with limited waste and environmental fouling from a feed stream containinglower value metal impurities such as lead, iron, nickel, selenium, tellurium,sulfur,arsenic, or combinations of these compounds. In the recovery process, basemetalscomplexes are altered to cations and quantitatively removed on an ion exchangeresin,while precious metals are anionic and do not load on the ion exchange mediaand passthrough at very high blended purity for further separation and recovery.
