The present invention relates to a cylinder device. An object of the presentinvention is to operate a cylinder device stably. A cylinder device includes acylinder (1), anouter tube (12), a piston (2), a piston rod (3), a rod guide (16), a firstcommon passage (200)through which working oil that is supplied to and discharged from a rod-sidechamber (110)passes, a pipe (13) that forms a part of the first common passage (200) and isprovided in areservoir tank (130), a pipe holder (14) that is provided between the pipe(13) and the rodguide (16) and holds a first end of the pipe (13), and a plug (15) that isprovided on a side ofthe pipe holder (14) opposite from the pipe (13) and has a throttle passage(15a) allowing thefirst common passage (200) to communicate with the reservoir tank (130).
