Methods and systems are presented in this disclosure for evaluatingperformance of cement fluid-loss-control additives and generating cementslurries withcontrolled fluid losses for cementing operations. A normalized pressure alonga wellborelength can be first specified based on properties of the proposed cementslurryformulation and properties of the wellbore in a subterranean formation. Avolume loss of a fluidof the proposed cement slurry formulation can be calculated using a modelassociatedwith the fluid obtained based at least in part on the normalized pressure andproperties ofthe fluid. The proposed cement slurry formulation can be manipulated by addingone ormore fluid-loss control additives to the proposed cement slurry formulationbased on thecalculated volume loss of the fluid to produce a preferred cement slurry.
