A single-bearing permanent magnet generator (20) and an internal combustion railway vehicle. The single-bearing permanent magnet generator (20) is used in cooperation with an internal combustion engine (30) of the internal combustion railway vehicle. The single-bearing permanent magnet generator (20) comprises a bearing (21) and discs (10); the bearing (21) is provided at the first end of a rotating shaft (22) of the single-bearing permanent magnet generator (20); the discs (10) are provided at the second end of the rotating shaft (22), and the discs (10) are used for connecting the single-bearing permanent magnet generator (20) and the internal combustion engine (30); and one bearing (21) and the discs (10) of the permanent magnet generator (20) are used for jointly constraining the radial displacement and the axial displacement of the rotating shaft (22). The single-bearing permanent magnet generator (20) has a reduced structural size, facilitating arrangement in the limited installation space of an internal combustion railway vehicle, thereby being able to solve the problem of a dual-bearing permanent magnet generator being inconveniently arranged in an internal combustion railway vehicle.
