An indoor unit (100) and an air conditioner applying the same, which relate to the field of household appliances and which solve the technical problem wherein an ejection stroke of an existing air deflector is long, leading to poor stability of movement; the indoor unit (100) comprises an air outlet (1) and an air deflector (2) having a rotary portion (20), wherein the air deflector (2) may rotate about an axis of the rotary portion (20); when the rotary portion (20) may be relatively close to and far from the air outlet (1) so as to move to a first position far from the air outlet (1), the air deflector (2) is provided with a first air guiding position at which the air deflector (2) rotates about the axis of the rotary portion (20) until an end (21) thereof is inserted into the air outlet (1); compared with the existing technology in which a gap exists between an air deflector and an air outlet, the stroke by which the rotary portion (20) drives the air deflector (2) to move to a first position far from the air outlet so as to perform air guiding is short, thereby shortening the movement stroke of the rotary portion (20) and improving the stability of movement thereof.
