Disclosed in the present invention is a three-dimensional display system employing mixed temporal and spatial multiplexing capable of enhancing information presentation of a target 3D image and improving viewing comfort by means of mixed temporal and spatial multiplexing. According to the present invention, a guide device can enable imaging of multiple display units and direct image spaces thereof to overlap or intersect; a light barrier array constrains beams emitted from the display units such that they exit through different apertures; at the same time point, multiple corresponding views exit a group of clear apertures; at different time points, projection of more and denser views is achieved using time-sequential switches of multiple groups of clear apertures, thereby increasing the number of views presented by the system, reducing angular separation between the views, and improving a 3D information presentation effect. Also provided in the present invention is a three-dimensional display method employing mixed temporal and spatial multiplexing.
