The present invention relates to technology for controlling a user interface of a wearable device. A system for controlling a user interface according to a characteristic of a wearable device according to an embodiment of the present invention may comprise a wearable device and a terminal device interworking with each other, wherein: the wearable device provides device specification information to the terminal device during interworking with the terminal device; and the terminal device configures a user interface to be controlled and a situation notification method according to occurrence of a notification situation on the basis of the device specification information, and when a notification situation occurs, controls the configured user interface according to the configured situation notification method.
