Provided is a points employment system 10 which, on the basis of an index relating to a financial product, employs points held by a user in a points program wherein accumulated points can be exchanged for products, among other rewards. Said system comprises a points employment control unit 12 which either computes information relating to a forecast on whether the points balance will reach a target value and/or stop-loss value by a deadline or selects a financial product with a high probability of reaching the target value, on the basis of the target value and/or stop-loss value for the points balance in the context of points employment, said values being configured on the basis of stepwise units of exchange used in exchanging points for products, among other rewards.
