Disclosed is a method for improving the transmission performance of a relay station in an LTE small base-station system, characterized in that: according to channel state information (CSI), a source base station DeNodeB configures TTI bundling in Layer 2 (L2) signaling by means of the field RN-SubframeConfig-r10; the DeNodeB newly transmits downlink data by means of DCI scheduling in a R-PDCCH, and retransmits on the downlink backhaul sub-frame after TTI_BUNDLE_SIZE-1; the TTI_BUNDLE_SIZE is defined in the DeNodeB and the RN, and retransmitted resource allocation is the same as the new transmission; the RN uses the information feedback on the PUCCH on the last TTI of the bundle. The present invention uses TTI bundling on a backhaul downlink to transmit a downlink signal, reducing transmission delay in situations where the wireless signal is poor. Combining TTI bundling with relay improves cell coverage. Configuring TTI bundling in L2 signaling prevents a user equipment from repeatedly demodulating downlink data, conserving DCI resources occupied by retransmission.
