The present invention aims to provide a method for obtaining diagnostic information of lung disease wherein the lung is imaged by optical diffuse spectroscopy using a diagnostic composition and the obtained optical diffuse spectroscopic image is analyzed, the diagnostic composition having been prepared by a method in which gold nanoparticles and macrophages are incubated together to support the gold nanoparticles on the macrophages. The gold nanoparticle-supported macrophages of the present invention migrate to the lung without exerting bad influence on a subject to be administered therewith and thus can be used as a contrast agent for diffuse optical imaging and spectroscopy, which is a noninvasive measuring method for diagnosing a lung disease in a patient. The method of the present invention is expected to find applications in clinical use because the method of present invention can be used to visualize a topical inflammation site of the lung and an inflammation degree thereof in a short time in diffuse optical imaging and spectroscopy using near-infrared light, which is harmless to the human body.
