A chip reset method, a chip, and a consumable container. The method comprises the following steps: obtaining print information of partial or all imaging cartridge data during the chip usage process; detecting the abnormal state of a chip and generating an exception tag according to the abnormal state; generating reset information according to the exception tag and/or print information, and obtaining reset data according to the reset information; and executing the reset operation according to the reset data. Automatic reset can be implemented according to the abnormal state of the chip and the print information, thereby improving the utilization rate of the chip.
