A terminal device (100), comprising a touch display screen (30) and a pressure sensor (40); the touch display screen (30) displays a graphical user interface, the graphical user interface displays a plurality of icons, and each icon performs corresponding display according to a corresponding display attribute; the pressure sensor (40) senses a pressing operation on the touch display screen (30) in real time and generates a sensing signal; and the terminal device (100) further comprises a memory (20) and a processor (10); the processor (10) implements the following when executing a computer program stored in the memory (20): responding to a sensing signal and acquiring a pressing force and/or a pressing duration; determining the number of icons corresponding to the pressing force and/or the pressing duration according to a correspondence between the preset pressing force and/or the pressing duration and the number of icons; and controlling, according to the number of icons, the graphical user interface to display the icon number of icons. The graphical user interface control method for the terminal device (100) can control the number of display icons according to the pressing force and/or the pressing duration when the terminal device (100) is awakened, thus achieving a good user experience.
